History
After a short career with Square D Co., in 1948 Herbert Charles Zang decided to go into the rep business. Armed with one line, Struther’s Dunn Relay Co. and working from the basement of his Starin Avenue home in Buffalo, NY - he went to work. Since its inception H.C. Zang Agency, Inc. has represented many quality manufacturers of electrical equipment and today we continue to represent only the very best manufacturers of electrical equipment and other related products. Today, we are making our way into the third generation of operation and over our fifty-nine year history have grown from a one-man company to a full manufacturers’ representative firm providing Concept-to-Completion™ solutions and services for the electrical industry from Buffalo to Albany in Upstate New York.
Concept-to-Completion
Concept-to-Completion™ is our trade marked approach to the market place. We pride ourselves on early involvement in projects and then…seeing them through to completion. It is not uncommon for us to begin tracking the life of a project years before it reaches the bid stage. We work with owners and end-users, architects and engineers early-on to assist in laying projects out and specifying the best product solution for a given application. After the project has been planned and designed we follow it through to bid day – we work with our electrical contractor and construction manager customers, educating them on the project as it relates to the products and services we provide. During the post-bid stage, or at “Buy-Time” as we refer to it, we bring value to our key distributor relationships with our overall involvement-in and knowledge-of the project. Finally, we strive to provide superior post-sales support to our customers to ensure the solution we provided them with meets all of their expectations.

The industrial and commercial markets along with the electrical utility market are the sectors in which we serve. We bring value to all of the markets we serve with almost-sixty years of service and experience and a high level of commitment and customer service to each and every project we are involved in.
Electrical Distributors
We promote 100% distributor involvement on every project we are involved in. We value the tools and resources, as well as the relationships distributors bring to every project. We support our key electrical distributors through superior customer service, training, stock reviews and joint calls at key contractors and industrial accounts.
